Is your library interested in providing a public program to help your patrons understand the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect them? If so, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Service's Health Insurance Consumer Assistance Program (HICAP) can help you provide this information to your patrons.
HICAP delivers FREE informational seminars on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act for Michigan consumers at various libraries. The 1.5 hour seminar is entitled:
* The New Health Care Law: What it Means for You - An explanation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and how it will affect consumer and senior health coverage today and in the future, including information of the Health Insurance Marketplace.
For more information about the free informational seminar, or if you would like to schedule a presentation for your library, please contact Lisa Ross toll free at (877) 999-6442 or (517) 335-7328; or send email to: RossL5 at michigan.gov<mailto:RossL5 at michigan.gov>.
Also, attached you will find more information about additional programs the agency can provide to the public at your library. If you have questions about the programs, please feel free to contact Lisa Ross directly.
Have a good weekend!
Shannon
