Hello Public Library Directors and Branch Librarians,

Please participate in a short survey created by Connect Michigan<http://www.connectmi.org/>. The survey will collect Public Library download speeds as a part of the National Telecommunications & Information Administration (NTIA<http://www.ntia.doc.gov/>) data submission in September. The survey is very brief and includes a test to determine download speed. The information collected, will be used to inform NTIA's Broadband USA<http://www2.ntia.doc.gov/> initiative and the National Broadband Map<http://broadbandmap.gov/>. Please complete the survey before August 31st, 2013. If your library has multiple branches please complete a survey for each location.

NTIA is the Executive Branch agency that is principally responsible for advising the President on telecommunications and information policy issues. NTIA's programs and policymaking focus largely on expanding broadband Internet access and adoption in America, expanding the use of spectrum by all users, and ensuring that the Internet remains an engine for continued innovation and economic growth.

Connect Michigan, in partnership with the Michigan Public Service Commission, supports Michigan's reinvention and technological transformation through innovation, job creation, and entrepreneurship via the expansion of broadband technology and increased usage by Michigan residents. Connect Michigan is leading the effort to increase high-speed Internet access, adoption, and use to diversify the economy and ensure Michigan's competitiveness in the connected global economy of the twenty-first century.

Thank you!
