[Michlib-l] Summer Reading materials and webinars

Now that the 2013 Summer Reading program is all wrapped up, we are turning to the 2014 program. The 2014 Science themed materials will be mailed this week and next week from the Library of Michigan. You'll be receiving the four manuals on DVD, the incentives catalog, and new this year, a partner incentives catalog and a handout about theme appropriate materials from the National Geographic Society. These will be sent to every library branch.
Please also take a look at the upcoming Summer Reading webinars, starting next month. You can sign up for these free, one hour webinars at www.michigan.gov/libraryofmichigan<http://www.michigan.gov/libraryofmichigan>. The webinar link in the Events section. The webinars will be:
1. November 7th (2-3 pm) - Summer Reading 101: Learn about the Manuals, Programs and Online Resources. Speaker: Karren Reish from the Library of Michigan.
2. January 7th (2-3 pm) - Online Clubs and Social Media: Using Apps, Badges, Clubs and Games. Speaker: Mariah Cherem from Ann Arbor District Library.
3. February 11th (10-11 am) - Getting Past the Reading Log: New Program Ideas for Children and Teens. Speakers: Anna Curtis and Jen Wrzesinski from the Marshall District Library.
4. March 4th (3-4 pm) - Adult Summer Reading: Bringing Adults on Board to Encourage Adult and Family Literacy. Speaker: Donna Olson from the Howell Carnegie District Library.
