The Italian Hall disaster in Calumet, Michigan is one of the great unsolved mysteries of Michigan history. It involved the deaths of over 70 people - mostly children. It was, whether intended or not, a mass homicide.
The tragedy evokes a lot of emotion in the area still. It is a really
fascinating event that people continue to study today.
The great Woody Guthrie wrote a famous song based on the
1913 Massacre as it was sometimes called.

There was a film done as well. There is a link, below, for
a synopsis and the trailer for the film including Arlo Guthrie and a bit of the song by Woody
Guthrie, too. Nice film based on the song. Don’t know how it would work with
the live presentation.
