Good morning,

Dr. Roy Finkenbine of the University of Detroit Mercy asked that I share the below with all of you. Dr. Finkenbine has lectured at public libraries in the area on topics related to the Civil War and Solomon Northup (12 Years a Slave).

The National Park Service hosts an annual conference on the Underground Railroad each summer. This year it is hosted in Detroit from July 16 to July 20. Pre-conference events on July 15 include workshops for researchers, teachers, etc. Information about the conference can be found at http://www.nps.gov/subjects/ugrr/annual-conference.htm. Specific questions can be directed to Diane Miller of the National Park Service (402-661-1588, diane_miller at nps.gov).

Thanks,
Matt
