[Michlib-l] Books on the Lake author program

The Grosse Pointe Public Library, in partnership with the Grosse Pointe Library Foundation and the Wayne County Community College District's School of Continuing Education, will soon be hosting our Books on the Lake author program.  We are so very excited to see it return this year, after a break of several years due to budget cuts.  Will you please help us spread the word? The Grosse Pointe Public Library, with a generous grant from the Grosse Pointe Library Foundation and in partnership with Wayne County Community College District's School of Continuing Education will be presenting Books On The Lake, the popular author luncheon on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:30am. This year's speakers will be authors Dennis Lehane, Gloria Whelan, and Rhoda Janzen. The event includes lunch, the speaker's presentations and book signings, and will be held in the ballroom of the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. Tickets are $35.

A private reception for Dennis Lehane and Gloria Whelan will be held at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club on Friday, May 9 from 7-9pm.  This is an opportunity to mingle with the authors in a social setting, and book signing will be available.  Tickets are $100 and include open bar, hors d'oeouvres, dessert and valet parking.

Great Lakes VIP has very generously donated a luxury weekend trip for two to Chicago!  The trip will be customized to suit the winner and includes: transportation for two on a semi-private jet, black car service, two nights in a luxury hotel, dinner for two at one of Chicago's top restaurants, and two tickets to the event of your choice.  Raffle tickets are $100 and only 200 tickets will be sold. This is truly an amazing opportunity for you to experience Chicago in style!  The drawing will be held May 10 and the winner need not be present.
