[Michlib-l] Flipster: eMagazine Service From EBSCO: Free 30 Day Trial

All,

I have arranged for a 30 day free trial of EBSCO's new eMagazine service, Flipster. They have about 70 titles available as of now, including the exclusive rights to Consumer Reports, with more to come.

Cost is per title, based on population served, with no additional access fee. I am working on discounted pricing for Michigan libraries.

The process seems simple enough, just login with your User Id and Password, click the title you want to read, and start reading it. If it really is that simple, and if the pricing turns out to be competitive, and if EBSCO is able to build their title database, then Flipster should provide some good competition for Zinio. As Flipster content can be purchased title by title, at the very least it should serve as a good supplement and source of titles that Zinio cannot provide, such as Consumer Reports.
