All,

Unless you've been living under a rock, or in Ohio, during the past several months I'm sure you are aware that the second year of the Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) program will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at http://michiganactivitypass.info MAP Year 2 is bigger, and better, with 108 participating venues, the complete list of which is included in the attached press release. Of the 108, 55 were partners last year, which represents an 89% renewal rate of last year's list of 62 venues. This, along with the fact that we have brought on board for MAP 53 brand new partner venues, tells me that museums and cultural institutions place great value on their participation in your program.

We've marketed and promoted (hyped?) MAP very heavily recently, via a variety of listservs. You've indulged us in that regard, and your rewards for said indulgence are two:

1. MAP goes live May 24, 2014!
2. This should be our final MAP-related message for the foreseeable future.

Promotional material for MAP can be found here: http://tln.lib.mi.us/map/ The brochure was re-designed last week and as such, it does not include the names of a couple of new MAP partners that joined the program this week. The popular MAP brochure 2014 will be updated in the very near future so as to include all partner venues that are listed in the press release.

MAP passes can be reserved as much as 14 days in advance. In looking at the pass reservations during the past two weeks, I was very pleased to see that passes are already being circulated for some of our new partners, such as the Gilmore Car Museum, the Michigan Science Center, and the Nokomis Learning Center. Also, I've seen MAP passes circulate in libraries for the upcoming year of MAP 2, which had very limited or in some cases no, MAP pass activity in Year 1.

This morning I will speak with a librarian at Indianapolis Public Library, subject MAP. They want to start their own MAP program, heard about our program, perhaps via the press release that appeared in American Libraries Direct, and reached out to us for advice.

Thank you for your support, promotion and indulgence of our MAP-related hype during the past several months, and please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jim Flury
