I was made aware I forgot the date of the event in my email:

October 2, 2015 at the Bloomfield Township Library.

All speakers receive free admission to the Forum as a whole.

Thanks!

Subject: TLN Tech Forum - Request for Speaker - Video Gaming in Public Libraries

Hi there,

I'm inquiring on the behalf of the TLN Tech Forum group. We are looking for speakers for one of the topics we wish to present : "Video Gaming in the Library". I'm acting as the coordinator for this presentation for the TLN Tech Forum Committee.

We currently have 2 speakers currently on board: Michael Shereda (Farmington) and Kathleen Kozlowski (Orion Township).

We would like to have a total of 3 or 4 speakers, who will discuss what they have done for 10 to 15 minutes each, and then have 10 to 15 minutes of questions for all panelists.

Each will discuss:

· What games they’ve played in programs
· What platform they chose and why
· What kind of patrons attend (age/sex/etc)
· How many patrons attend (round numbers)
· What kind of reaction from the attendees (do they want more?)
· What kind of costs for equipment
· How long was the game relevant (ex: we ran DDR at the Northville Library for about 3 years, then it bottomed out)
· Did the program result in patrons who return to the library for other purposes? (as in: did the video games introduce them to other services the Library offers?)
· What they believe the benefit of gaming in the Library is

Also, Do you have any pictures from gaming programs?

Would you be interested in being a panelist? Any speaker for the event will receive free admission to the rest of the Tech Forum, which generally pulls in mostly from the TLN service area, but often from around the state with an overall Forum attendance around 100 to 150 people. We may see between 20 to 50 people for the presentation on Video Gaming in the Library (just a guess right now :)

Let me know if you're interested as soon as possible.

Thanks!
