[Michlib-l] Star Wars Day

Hi Emily and everyone,

For the light sabers, a former colleague of mine at a Texas library used
insulation for pipes (Demonstrated here:
http://fowlerfam.blogspot.com/2009/01/may-fource-be-with-you.html), which
worked quite well. The material is cheaper and thinner than pool noodles.
The main downside is that it's grey, which might disappoint kids who want
them to look like they're glowing the various bright colors used in the
movie series. That wasn't a problem at our Star Wars day, but our
participants were pretty young, so not too detail-oriented.
