Join the Library of Michigan and Anjie Gleisner, Youth Librarian and co-leader of the early literacy workgroup from Kent District Library, for a new webinar on Early Literacy and Public Libraries - Supporting Reading Proficiency on April 29th at 1 pm. You can register for the webinar directly at http://www.solutionwhere.com/lom/cw/CourseByAlpha.asp or go to www.michigan.gov/youthlibraryservices<http://www.michigan.gov/youthlibraryservices>.
The webinar will focus on early literacy support in public libraries. Everyone is talking about early literacy and 3rd grade reading proficiency these days and public libraries are a hot spot for significant early literacy services. From national programs like Every Child Ready to Read to local programs like Kent District Library’s Play Grow Read, public libraries are an important part of early and family literacy. Come join us to learn about programs, developmentally appropriate activities and putting it all into practice in your library. We’ll also talk about how to message to parents, educators and officials in your community about the important role you play in community literacy efforts.
