Hello all,
No, you’re not imaging things, there was a previous MeL Minute touting the features of MeL database HeritageQuest Online<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-proq.php?database=HERITAGE> but I decided to bring it to your attention again because it has undergone some dramatic enhancements that I’m sure you and your patrons will be amazed by. The list of new records and features include: 1940 U.S. Census records, 2,000 additional family and local histories, ability to send documents “home”, city directories 1821-1989 for all states except Alaska, Slave schedules of 1850 and 1860 for 16 states (Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia), index to the U.S. Indian Census rolls, 1885-1940 (with some limitations), selected non-population schedules (agriculture and industry), and the 1890 veterans schedule which includes Civil War veterans and widows and in some case, Confederate veterans. The Research Aids have been expanded and cover basics as well as advanced search techniques. Now powered by Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest Online<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-proq.php?database=HERITAGE> is the go-to resource for all things genealogy. Michigan residents or Michigan library access only.
