DIY Materials Advisory Conference

What:
All library staff and library students within Michigan are invited to participate in a one-day, interactive learning experience on the topic of materials advisory or the art of connecting people with the music, movies, and books they will love most. At the conference, participants will learn how to:
* Create a self-paced materials advisory professional development program for library staff
* Host virtual author events
* Merchandise library materials for optimal exposure and circulation
* Plan and execute music events
* Connect youth and teens to the materials they will love most
* Create interactive idea factories for patrons
* Connect patrons with non-fiction materials
Featuring
* Live musical performance by local/indie group
* Live Skype discussion with best-selling author Adriana Trigiani<http://adrianatrigiani.com/home/>

Monday, September 21, 2015
Registration: 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Conference: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Registration and Cost:
This is a paperless conference. All participants will be provided with a flash drive containing conference content. Lunch is included (menu details provided on event webpage).
Early Bird Registration: $35 (before September 1, 2015)
Regular Registration: $40 (after September 1, 2015)
