*Library Director*

If you looking for a great job in a beautiful new library just minutes from
Higgins Lake and Houghton Lake, then this Director job is for you! The
Roscommon Area District Library Board is seeking a qualified, innovative,
hands-on leader with thorough knowledge of library principles, practices,
techniques, materials, and technology.   The Roscommon Area District
Library is a Class II rural library that includes the main library in
Roscommon, as well as the Lyon Township Branch in Higgins Lake.  RADL has a
friendly, experienced, and dedicated staff of 6 with a budget of $330,000,
who provides personalized service to a population of 6,889. The library
enjoys strong community support with a new 15-year millage and 136 Friends
of the Library!

*Job Description: *Seeking full time Director for the Roscommon Area
District Library. The Library Director is responsible for the management
and operation of the library, programming, collection development,
personnel administration, and budget management.

*Qualifications:*  Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA
accredited university preferred. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree
from an accredited college or university and possess or qualify to possess
a minimum Level 3 Professional Librarian Certificate issued by the Library
of Michigan.  Two years library employment experience desired with at least
one year of library management experience preferred, but new graduates are
welcome to apply.


*Job Requirements: *-Director is responsible for the management of the
library and staff.

-Plans, coordinates, and directs library programs for all ages.

-Understands and monitors local, state, and national regulations and
statutes affecting the library.

-Library collection development.

-Software skills needed: Office, QuickBooks, and Plinkit Web Content
Management.
-Library publicity through press releases, bulletins, the RADL website, and
social media.

-Financial responsibilities include:
*                    - *Preparing annual budget for board consideration.
                    -Utilizing QuickBooks for budget, payroll, invoices,
and arranging for annual audit.
                    -Grant writing.

-Serves as a resource and provides administrative support to the Library
Board and the Friends of the Library by attending meetings, making reports,
and participating in committee work as needed.

*Salary:* Full-time salary starts at $35,000 for candidates with a
bachelor’s degree and up to $42,000 with the MLS degree dependent on
experience and level of education.
