Adult Programmer

Allegan District Library

Job Description:  We’re looking for an outgoing, creative individual who
wants to help make the Allegan District Library a hub of civic activity and
lifelong learning.   Working as a member of the Library’s Programing team,
the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and marketing a
wide array of enrichment programs for adults of all ages.

Hours:  25 hours per week; includes some nights and weekends

Salary Range:  $9.15 per hour.  Benefits include retirement plan and paid
time off.

Requirements: High School Diploma; at least two years’ experience working
in a customer service oriented field. Must be adept in the use of office
and library related technologies, including experience in using social
media to encourage library use and build relationships between the library
and the community.  The ability to deal with the pressures of public
service work in a busy environment is essential. The successful applicant
must have excellent interpersonal skills and a cheerful demeanor.
Proficiency in both oral and written communication, and the ability to work
with a diverse staff and patron population is imperative. Evening and
weekend availability is required.
