The job posting for the Director' s position at the Public Libraries of Saginaw expires on May 18th .


The Board of Trustees of the Public Libraries of Saginaw (MI), an independent urban district library with excellent community support, is seeking a new director to move the system forward with innovative service models and programs. The Library serves a culturally diverse population of over 120,000 with a main library and three branches and a budget of approximately $4 million.

Proven skills in community outreach, restructuring library services, managing and motivating staff, innovating, and financial acuity are paramount. A shrinking tax base will require the director to be flexible and visionary in providing needed services for the future.

Qualifications: ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science and a preferred 8 years experience in a public library in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

 *   Knowledge of current technological resources and advancements in library information science
 *   Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, social skills, and adaptability
