POSITION:  SUNDAY LIBRARIAN

REPORTS TO:  Head of Adult Services

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited university
Enthusiasm and commitment to public service excellence
Demonstrated knowledge of computers, including Internet resources
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Public library experience preferred
Knowledge of print and electronic reference tools
Self-motivated and dependable
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with  
other staff, supervisors and the public
Ability to view and utilize library computer records
Ability to listen and interact with all library patrons
Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as climb, stoop,  
bend, reach, lift, push and/or pull at least 20 pounds

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver reference and reader’s advisory services in person, over the  
phone, and via online chat 	to library patrons of all ages
Assist patrons with computers, wi-fi, photocopiers and other equipment
Explain library policies and serve as the Librarian in charge
Other duties as assigned

HOURS: Sundays, 11:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (2-4 per month).  Some substitute  
hours may be available other days/times.  The Library is open on  
Sundays during the school year only.

HOURLY RATE:  $16.00 per hour
