Employment Opportunity:

Head of Youth Services forGeorgetown Township Public Library located in eastern Ottawa County andsuburban Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Head of Youth Services performsprofessional and supervisory work in planning, implementing, and managing acomprehensive program of library service to children and teens and is responsible for allactivities assigned to the Youth Services Department, includingcollection development, services, and programs. Position reports to the Library Director.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Library Science from anALA accredited institution with progressively responsible professional libraryexperience, including youth services, general reference, collection development, administrative, department head, and supervisory experience. Programming skills are highly desired. A workingknowledge/understanding of the principles, methods, and practices of publiclibrary service, including searching methods, readers’ advisory, and referenceinterviews/sources. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communicationskills. Candidates must possess or beeligible for Level 2 certification through the Library of Michigan.

Work scheduleincludes evenings and Saturdays.

This is a salaried position (40+ hours per week) with a benefitpackage. Starting salary is $45,000.
