Please forward this online flyer to teachers or anyone you know that
supports (and/or loves) reading!
Specifics:
*Colby Sharp*
*Building and Fostering a Reading Community *
*Colby Sharp loves all things books. When he’s not reading with his third
graders, he might be hosting book-related Twitter chats, reviewing titles
on his website (mrcolbysharp.com <https://sharpread.wordpress.com/>), or
blogging at the Nerdy Book Club <https://nerdybookclub.wordpress.com/>,
which Sharp cofounded with Donalyn Miller and two other educators. Colby
facilitates Nerd Camp, a summer Edcamp PD conference with a literacy twist.*
*Kim Clark and Kim Troost*
*Make Your Book Clubs a Blast!*
*Kim Clark, Media Specialist, and Kim Troost, Classroom Teacher, will talk
about practical ideas for launching your book clubs in a way that sparks
the interest of every reader. Help children and teens achieve new heights
and explore a universe of reading with strategies that you can apply to
multiple titles and situations.*
*Leslie Bermel: Junior Library Guild*
*New Release Books Your Students Will Love*
Leslie Bermel is JLG's resident book talker. If it's good, she's read it!
She has become one of the faces of the best new books as she travels
throughout the country talking with librarians and educators.
Thousands of children's books are released each year; which do you choose?
This booktalk highlights some of Leslie's new favorites among this season’s
outstanding new or soon-to-be released titles (Fall and Winter ‘17). The
talk will include discussion of possible classroom uses, target audience,
and why these particular books are so appealing.
Lunch is included and SCECH's are available.
Direct link to registration is in the online flyer and can also be found
