August 29 - September 2, Jenn Keating from Britannica will be presenting training for public library staff, especially youth and teen librarians, to become more familiar with MeL's Britannica School<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-brit.php?database=BRSCHOOL> for use as they work with students at their libraries during the school year. There will be 2 sessions- 9am-Noon for Youth and 1:00-3:00pm for Teens at each location. Attendees can register for either or both using the links and information shown below. Lunch is on your own. Britannica will be picking up the a.m. coffee/snack and the afternoon drinks/snack.
Britannica School for Children: Explore Britannica School through the eyes of your youngest patrons. Explore the world around us through interactive games, maps, and unique features. Learn how children can explore new people, places, and things with Britannica's thousands of images, videos, text, and other interactive tools. Find new ways to engage children in the library and at home and how to promote Britannica School and MeL in your community.
Britannica School for Teens: Bring research and non-fiction reading to life for your young adult and teen patrons. In this hands-on session learn about how to use Britannica School to ignite inquiry and promote self-directed learning. We'll explore ideas and strategies to uncover content, engage reluctant readers, and provide support to ALL users.
