Employment Opportunity:

Headof Reference/Adult Services for Georgetown Township Public Librarylocated in eastern Ottawa County and suburban Grand Rapids, Michigan.

TheHead of Reference/Adult Services performs professional and supervisory work inplanning, implementing, and managing a comprehensive program of library serviceto adults and is responsible for all activities assigned to the Reference/AdultServices Department, including collection development, services, andprograms.  Position reports to the Library Director.

Requirements:Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution withprogressively responsible professional library experience, including adultservices, general reference, collection development, administrative, departmenthead, program planning/execution, and supervisory experience. A workingknowledge/understanding of the principles, methods, and practices of publiclibrary service, including, but not limited to, searching methods, readers’advisory, and reference interviews/sources is required. Programming, desktoppublishing, and cataloging/assigning call numbers (DDC) skills and experienceessential. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills necessary.Candidates must possess or be eligible for Level 2 certification through theLibrary of Michigan.

Workschedule includes evenings and Saturdays.

This is asalaried position (40+ hours per week) with a benefit package. Salary is $47,500.
