Subject: [alsc-l] Help Us Compile Mock Election Results on the ALSC Blog
Every year libraries and schools around North America offer Mock Election programs in preparation for the annual Youth Media Awards<http://www.ala.org/news/mediapresscenter/presskits/ymapk>. These discussions are a great opportunity for children’s literature aficionados to gather and discuss a topic they love, and to learn more about some of the outstanding books published for youth in the past year.
We are developing a page on the ALSC Blog with as many of the results from this year's Mock Elections as we can find. Check it out here<http://www.alsc.ala.org/blog/2017-mock-elections/>. (You can also find this tab on the homepage of the ALSC Blog<http://www.alsc.ala.org/blog/>.)
So far, we have results from:
* Cuyahoga County Public Library in Ohio
* Dayton Metro Library in Ohio
* Takoma Park Library in Maryland
* Suffolk Cooperative Library System in New York
* Wright State University in Ohio
If you are a library, school, bookstore, discussion group, blog, MLIS class, or other group of interested readers, we'd love to include the results of your mock election of young people's literature. Send off the names of your mock winner and honor titles using the form at the bottom of the Mock Elections Results page<http://www.alsc.ala.org/blog/2017-mock-elections/>. We look forward to posting a wide variety of results!
Check back often<http://www.alsc.ala.org/blog/2017-mock-elections/> to see what titles are being selected in Youth Media Award Mock Elections, and stay tuned to find out the real winners as they are announced at the Midwinter Conference on January 23, 2017 in Atlanta.
Happy reading! Happy discussing!
Mary
