Google RISE Awards

Libraries are eligible to participate in this grant opportunity.

The Google RISE Awards is an annual grant program for organizations that promote extracurricular computer science (CS) for pre-university/secondary school/K-12 students, with a specific emphasis on girls and underrepresented minorities. The program is one of the ways Google is working to increase diversity in the tech industry and access to CS education around the world. In 2015, 37 organizations<http://www.google.com/edu/resources/programs/google-rise-awards/#!award-recipients> from 17 countries received RISE Awards for projects ranging from programming clubs<http://www.africateengeeks.co.za/> in Johannesburg to workshops on CS and music production<http://www.womensaudiomission.org/> in San Francisco.

The RISE Awards are now accepting applications<https://www.google.com/edu/resources/programs/google-rise-awards/#!application> through February 19. More information on eligibility and selection criteria is listed on their website<http://www.google.com/edu/resources/programs/google-rise-awards>.
