First things first. The publisher of the brand new book Wolverine: A Photographic History of Michigan Football http://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/wolverines/2015/12/19/michigan-wolverines-football-photo-book/77619728/ was kind enough to provide TLN with a complimentary copy. We don't serve the public here, so I could just strategically rotate the book among the desktops, offices, and cubes of the MSU grads and fans in our office so as to highly annoy them, which would be really neat. But as much fun as that would be, this book belongs in the public library domain. 

To that end, the first library that can deliver to me a NEW participant for MAP will receive as its prize, TLN's copy of this book (retail value $49.95). A new participant for MAP is defined as one that does not currently partake of the ginormous benefits that come with a MAP partnership. I will broaden the definition to include an institution that participated in previous years, fell away for some reason, but saw the error of its ways and wants to get on board with MAP again. The first referring library that can deliver an institution that completes and submits to me its copy of the MAP agreement form at http://tln.lib.mi.us/cultural/files/MAP%20cultural%20attraction%20participation%20questionnaire%202015.pdf will win TLN's copy of this book. 

Here are this month's new bulk order opportunities:

1. Wolverine: A Photographic History of Michigan Football. List price, $49.95. Discounted price is dependent upon the total number of copies we (you) order. If we order just one, the discount is 10%. For 50-99 copies, 20%. 100-199 is 30%, etc. I would budget for a 10% discount for this title.

2a. Michigan Divorce Book (with minor children),    new 10th edition:    List price is $34.95, 40% discount.
2b: Michigan Divorce Book (without minor children), new 10th edition:    List price is $28.95, 40% discount.

3. Todd and Brad Reed's Michigan: Wednesdays in the Mitten http://www.toddandbradreed.com/lightbox/Wednesdays.html and http://michiganradio.org/post/new-photo-book-captures-michigans-natural-beauty#stream/0 List price is $110.00. Discounted price of $95.00 applies if we purchase 50 copies, which I'm pretty sure we wont. For 100+ copies, discounted price is $85.00. Budget for list price for this one. It's still easier than having to order it yourself, even at list price. 

4. DVD You're Looking At Me Like I Live Here And I Don't. Lots of accolades for this. DVD only, no PPR, $31.00. DVD with PPR, $80.00. Please specify with or without PPR.

5. Michigan based Ted Braude of http://www.boysworkproject.com/ The library price for the Dragon Taming dvd set of four is $125.00. They will sell it to us at the retail price of $75.00. The book How Boys Become Men retails for $15.95. Library price, $12.95. The bundle, dvd and book, is available for $82.95. Please specify dvd, book, or bundle. Please note that if you wish to purchase PPR for the dvd, the distributor asks that you contact them directly. I can provide you with said contact info if needed.

Please note that TLN may assess a $1.00 per item charge to help offset the cost of this project.

Let's set a Friday, January 29 order deadline for the bulk purchases. The book contest will remain open until we have a winning library/new MAP destination. Start making those sales pitches to your local venues!
