Hi all,

March is Reading Month and in case you're still looking for new ways to encourage reading, let me point out the information compiled by Library of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Education to promote "purposeful reading for all Michiganders.<http://www.michigan.gov/mde/0,4615,7-140-28753_65803-376051--,00.html>"  Four school levels are highlighted and in each a MeL Database is referenced along with the lessons that can be taught and goals achieved by using the database.  BookFlix(tm)<http://galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-scholastic.php>, Early World of Learning<http://worldbookonline.com/ewol/home?subacct=O6106> and Research in Context<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-gale.php?database=MSIC> are featured.  A short recorded statement by State Superintendent of Education Brian Whiston and Professional Knowledge resources are also included.  And, don't forget to look at the MeL Books & Literacy Gateway<http://mel.org/index.php?P=MeLGateways&ParentId=60> where you'll find select websites and MeL Databases.
