Do you work with or collect old or collectible books? This workshop will
discuss how to identify valuable volumes, care for and catalog books, and
build a library. It will also cover storage considerations, basic mending
techniques that are archival safe, and issues related to book collecting.

The Historical Society of Michigan is our state's oldest cultural
organization, founded in 1828 by territorial governor Lewis Cass and
explorer Henry Schoolcraft. A nongovernmental nonprofit, the Society focuses
