[Libraries Transform Newsletter]
It's hard to believe that October marks not only the 140th anniversary of the founding of the American Library Association, but the first anniversary of Libraries Transform. Since its launch in Washington, D.C., last October, more than 3,900 libraries and library supporters from across the country and around the world have joined the campaign and used the message of Libraries Transform to advocate and increase awareness for all types of libraries. It's amazing to consider what a difference a year can make! We'd love to hear what you think. We have included a brief survey in this month's newsletter along with the other great content you have come to expect. Please take 5 minutes and let us know what you think, and help us continue to transform to meet your library's needs.

Connected Learning Links Library Patrons with Their Passion
[Generic people depicted with different types of learning]Advanced digital tools have rendered the world a classroom. The problem is, it's a really big classroom and can overwhelm even the most earnest student. In this way, connected learning refers not just to the technology, but to the substance of the experience. In today's wired environment, access to digital tools and opportunities to engage in self-selected, self-guided and self-paced learning provide new avenues for learning. Curation of those digital tools by professional librarians ensures that library patrons are not only plugged in, but tuned in as well. Or, if you will, connected.
