ALSC will award twelve $5,000 Strengthening Communities Through Libraries minigrants to ALSC personal members in public libraries whose libraries are within 20 miles of a Dollar General corporate or retail location. In addition to minigrants, ALSC will also develop supplemental resources that will be made widely available to support the out-of-school time programming of libraries and their community partners.

ALSC is now accepting applications for the Strengthening Communities Through Libraries Minigrants
Thanks to a Youth Literacy grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, ALSC will award twelve $5,000 Strengthening Communities Through Libraries minigrants to members in public libraries for the purpose of providing children's programming that strengthens community opportunities for STEAM learning during school breaks. As part of this project, ALSC will also develop supplemental resources that will be made widely available to support the out-of-school time programming of libraries and other community organizations.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and accepted until November 30, 2016.
