[Michlib-l] Wayne State to Offer its Archival Administration Certificate Online Starting January 2017

The Wayne State School of Library and Information Science is pleased to announce that its Graduate Certificate in Archival Administration (GCAA) will be available online (and, therefore, open to all SLIS students) effective Winter 2017.  As detailed on the GCAA web page<http://slis.wayne.edu/certificates/archival-administration.php> , the 15-credit certificate is composed of 3 required courses and 2 electives.

The initial schedule for the online GCAA is as follows:

Required Courses:

*         LIS 7710, Archival Administration:  Online Winter 2017

*         LIS 7780, Description and Access for Archives, Online Winter 2017

*         LIS 7685, Practicum, Assigned in student's home region
Electives:

*         LIS 6780, Records Management, Online Sp/Su and Fall

*         LIS 7730, Administration of Audio Visual Collections, not available online

*         LIS 7740, Archives and Libraries in the Digital World, Online Sp/Su 2017

*         LIS 7750, Intro to Archival and Library Conservation, not available online

*         LIS 7770, Oral History, not available online

*         LIS 7885, Administration of Historical Agencies, Online Fall 2017
