REFERENCE AND INSTRUCTION LIBRARIAN
	
Kalamazoo College Library seeks a dynamic and innovative Reference and Instruction Librarian to provide instructional and research assistance to the faculty, students, and staff of Kalamazoo College. The Reference and Instruction Librarian participates in appropriate faculty and professional activities including serving on college and departmental committees. This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative staff/non-teaching faculty appointment. Early career librarians are encouraged to apply. 
	
Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS; demonstrated commitment to public services; familiarity with current reference resources; knowledge of information literacy practices and principles; excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and organization skills; ability to develop research guides and appropriate pedagogical materials in order to effectively deliver instruction; demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and apply skills quickly; adept at handling multiple responsibilities; strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong customer service orientation and ability; willingness to work effectively in a collaborative team environment; sense of humor and collegial approach to innovation and problem solving.

Physical requirements of the position include ability to work in a library/office environment with extensive use of computer and telephone; ability to lift and carry up to ten pounds; ability to read and write, and able to handle and process both paper and electronic documents; ability to move between and within campus buildings.

Preferred: Experience in library instruction; familiarity with web CMS, Photoshop, HTML, and CSS; academic library experience; familiarity with current practices for copyright compliance; knowledge of cataloging principles and practices; familiarity with Innovative Interfaces systems (III) or Ex Libris.
