Apply now for Media Literacy @ Your Library opportunity for public libraries
The American Library Association (ALA), in collaboration with the Center for News Literacy at Stony Brook University, invites public libraries to apply for Media Literacy @ Your Library, a pilot program that will train library workers to help their adult patrons become better news consumers.

New York librarian's 10th annual fundraising swim for Spectrum
Miriam Tuliao has announced that she will participate in the Steve Belson Memorial Ocean Mile Swim to raise funds for the Spectrum Scholarship Program.

ALSC now accepting applications for 2018 Penguin Random House Young Readers Group Award
The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Grants Administration Committee are now accepting online applications for the 2018 Penguin Random House Young Readers Group Awards.  This award, made possible by an annual gift from Penguin Young Readers Group<http://www.penguin.com/children/> and Random House Children’s books, provides a $600 stipend for up to four children's librarians to attend their first ALA Annual Conference. The award also includes an invitation to the Newbery-Caldecott-Wilder banquet.
