*DIRECTOR*
Kalkaska County Library
The Kalkaska County Library (KCL), located in Kalkaska, Michigan is
situated in a rural region of Northwest Lower Michigan. Service population:
17,500; budget: $353,000; circulation: 35,000. KCL has earned statewide
recognition for its dedication to providing excellence in library
services. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership
qualities and the ability to relate to the community, staff and
supporters. Excellent organizational skills and progressive outlook
preferred. The director will be required to advance existing public
relation and outreach efforts, staff development and team building, plus
collaborate with Board of Trustees (BOT), Village and County Officials for
the common goal of constructing a New Library & Community Center via an
upcoming Capital Campaign.
The successful candidate must live within the region or be willing to
relocate to the region.
*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: *Must have a master’s degree in Library or
Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university. Must be
certified, or be eligible for certification from the Library of Michigan,
for a Librarian’s Permanent Professional Certificate. Business orientation
or background is desired.
Salary: $50,000 - $56,000 with benefits
