*Chris Bohjalian – The Sleepwalker*

Chris Bohjalian is the critically acclaimed author of nineteen books, 
including “The Sandcastle Girls” and “Midwives,” which was a number one 
New York Times bestseller and a selection of the Oprah Book Club. His 
work has been translated into more than thirty languages, and three of 
his novels have been adapted into movies. His new novel “The 
Sleepwalker” is a spooky thriller about sex, secrets and the mysteries 
of sleep.

*Claire Messud – The Burning Girl*

Claire Messud is the award-winning author of six novels, including “The 
Woman Upstairs” and “The Emperor’s Children,” which was a highly praised 
New York Times best-seller.  Her critically acclaimed new book is “The 
Burning Girl,” a coming-of-age story that is being called a hypnotic 
portrait of the complexities of female friendship.

*Drew Philp – A $500 House in Detroit: Rebuilding an Abandoned Home and 
an American City*

Drew Philp is the author of the memoir “A $500 House in Detroit,” the 
true story of a recent college graduate who wandered into Detroit and 
bought a ruined hulk of a once-grand house in an attempt at urban 
homesteading.  The Michigan native’s story is part coming-of-age tale, 
part history lesson and part social commentary about a city battling back.

*Heather Ann Thompson – Blood in the Water*

Heather Ann Thompson is a University of Michigan historian who won the 
2016 Pulitzer Prize for her nonfiction book, /“/Blood in the Water: The 
Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and its Legacy,/” /the story of the 
infamous 1971 Attica Prison uprising in New York State and the state’s 
cover-up that followed the death of thirty-nine men. She has written 
extensively on mass incarceration and its impact on the nation.

*Jane Alexander – Wild Things, Wild Places*

Jane Alexander**is a national treasure -- a Tony Award

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmy_Award>-winning actress who has 
appeared in dozens of productions on Broadway, television and movies, 
and has served as Director of the National Endowment for the Arts. 
  Alexander won raves for her stunning portrayal of Eleanor Roosevelt in 
two ABC miniseries. She has also made her mark on the natural world as 
a trustee of the Wildlife Conservation Society and a director of the 
Audubon Society
