Kathy Webb (the State Aid & Penal Fine Coordinator) and myself (Library Law Consultant) would be delighted to meet with you about this topic. Kathy and I can explain the pros and cons of establishing as a District Library as well as provide an overview of the process itself.  We are well-versed in the process and we work with District Libraries often on many issues. Additionally, we would be happy to provide information to other libraries or municipalities which are also considering being part of a District.

I am hoping the collective at Michlib-L will provide some excellent recommendations as you all have in the past for so many queries.   I'm looking for recommendations for consultants who can come provide information and guidance on what it takes to become a district library.  We are specifically looking for someone who is skilled at getting parties who might be hesitant about the idea engaged in the process.  We want a thorough discussion of the steps involved, timeline, and pros and cons.
