Electronic Resources Specialist

Western Michigan University Libraries seeks an Electronic Resources Specialist to enable and maintain access to the library's electronic resources through an Integrated Library System, updating portfolios and reconciling collections with title lists, importing locally created electronic collections, troubleshooting and resolving access issues.

Major Duties
- Manages the active databases, electronic collections and portfolios in the integrated library system (ILS). Manages community zone update task list. Reports discrepancies to the ILS for correction. Maintains perpetual access indicators. Uploads and configures licenses.

- Provides support for electronic resources for faculty, staff and students by recommending, downloading and implementing software. Advises and trains users, troubleshoots hardware and software compatibility issues. Configures vendor platforms and third party applications to ensure seamless access to electronic resources.

- Maintains accurate vendor administrative and statistical data and manages usage statistics in the ILS to support the evaluation of electronic resources. Generates, analyzes, evaluates and shares reports for departmental heads, faculty and library administrators.

- Communicates and collaborates with service providers, publishers, vendors, consortia, content providers, the university community, and library faculty and staff to ensure seamless access to electronic resources.

- Manages locally created electronic collections, importing, deleting and updating portfolios and communicating with members of the metadata team when new collections need cataloging.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field from an accredited institution.

- One year's relevant experience.

- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
