[Michlib-l] Special Request from Secretary of State Ruth Johnson

Attention Libraries in Southeast Michigan:

Hello. As you know from our partnership with libraries, my name is Cathleen Simlar and I work for Secretary of State Ruth Johnson. The secretary asked me to request your help in spreading the word about SOSLive, a free family expo she is hosting at Waterford Mott High School on Saturday, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This first-of-its-kind event will include dozens of interactive activities, food, live music and traffic safety simulators for the public to experience.  We will also have the full-service Secretary of State Mobile Office on site that day.

We're hoping you can help us by sharing information about this event with your library patrons.  To make things simple, I've created a few messages you can share through your various communication channels. I've also attached an image you can use and a flyer to post.  In addition, I am providing an informational sheet on a rare opportunity for high school students to participate as "journalists" at a Student Press Conference during SOSLive where they can personally ask Secretary Johnson questions.  If you are able to share this information with high school students, we would be most grateful!
