Greetings!

The Library of Michigan is offering a 45 minute Library Law Spotlight Webinar – Service, Therapy & Emotional Support: What’s a Library to do?

This Webinar will be held on 12/19/2018 at 10:30am – 11:15am ET

Service Animals have always been welcome in the library, and have always represented a specific service. Widespread use of animals as therapeutic treatments for emotional and mental injuries have muddied the term "Service Animal," and caused confusion for places of public accommodations with respect to what is required and what is optional.

At the end of this 45 minute webinar, participants will:

· The legal differences between Service Animals and other types of therapeutic animals

· The appropriate methods that can be used to discern animals that are not Service Animals

· The factors to consider when drafting a policy addressing Service Animals and other therapeutic animals.

There is no charge for this webinar – but you must register!<https://libraryofmichigan.z2systems.com/eventReg.jsp?event=96&>

*NOTE: The Library of Michigan is using a new product for presenting webinars. The product is called ZOOM, and it functions much like Adobe Connect (LM’s former product). Participants will be asked to download the Zoom client (like they did the Adobe Connect client). This should present few to no issues, but thought it would be prudent to let you know!

Please let me know if you have any questions – and I look forward to the webinar!

Thanks!
Clare
