Greetings!

We are excited to officially introduce the Michigan library community to the new MeL Engagement Specialists who started their positions with the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) at the beginning of December. Please join us in welcoming Theresa and Ann!

My name is Theresa Runyan and my position, Michigan eLibrary Engagement Specialist for Public Libraries at MCLS is not [Theresa Runyan] only new to me, it's new to MCLS. My job, in a nutshell, will be to assist and support the public library community with the Michigan eLibrary resources: how to use them and how to make them work for their patrons and themselves.
My most recent experience has been with the Jackson District Library, where I served as a Branch Manager, Circulation Coordinator and Customer Service Specialist. I have a strong background in management, training, end-user trouble shooting, and marketing.
I'm looking forward to working with all of you in this new position. So, please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions (runyant at mcls.org<mailto:runyant at mcls.org>; 800-530-9019 x151) or to set up a visit (https://mcls.org/melrequest<http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTgxMjEzLjk5MDU1MTYxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE4MTIxMy45OTA1NTE2MSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE3NTczODg5JmVtYWlsaWQ9YnJlZWRsQG1pY2hpZ2FuLmdvdiZ1c2VyaWQ9YnJlZWRsQG1pY2hpZ2FuLmdvdiZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&&&101&&&https://mcls.org/melrequest>).

[Ann Kaskinen]My name is Ann Kaskinen, and I am the new MeL Engagement Specialist, K12 for MCLS. While I received a library degree from Central Michigan University and have worked as a K12 Library-Media Specialist for nearly 16 years, I started my career teaching high school English, social studies, and public speaking. I have also served as a consultant for Allegan AESA and Traverse Bay Area ISD. More recently, I completed an internship at the Kalamazoo Public Library and served as teen librarian for Bay County Public Library in Panama City, Florida.
As an advocate of MeL for most of my career, I am more than excited to assist school personnel with the navigation of the new eResources that can support K12 curriculum. I know it can be a challenge finding and utilizing new tools for instruction, but the new suite of EBSCO databases does not disappoint. I can't wait to share these new resources with you! If you have questions or would like to set up an on-site visit, please do not hesitate to reach out to me (kaskinena at mcls.org<mailto:kaskinena at mcls.org> ; 800-530-9019 x150) or to set up a visit (https://mcls.org/melrequest<http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTgxMjEzLjk5MDU1MTYxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE4MTIxMy45OTA1NTE2MSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE3NTczODg5JmVtYWlsaWQ9YnJlZWRsQG1pY2hpZ2FuLmdvdiZ1c2VyaWQ9YnJlZWRsQG1pY2hpZ2FuLmdvdiZmbD0mZXh0cmE9TXVsdGl2YXJpYXRlSWQ9JiYm&&&102&&&https://mcls.org/melrequest>).
