Just wanted to say that myself and two colleagues attended this training in
Southfield. It was priceless. It was very hands-on; the tools can be used
in so many situations. Be sure to attend if you can.

Hello School Library Advocates

Keith Curry Lance and I have conducted some recent research and hope you
will help us spread this info out on your state networks and social media.
Our research is gaining attention and has been published by School Library
Journal and Phi Delta Kappan. Here are the links. In addition, please read
the Jessen article that shows how students in our poorest communities and
largely black communities have the fewest school libraries and librarians.
Jessen poses this as a ?canary in the coal mine? harkening of a
resegregation of schools, led by the charter movement that has the least
library services for students due to no oversight.

I hope you find these articles helpful in your work to ensure that all K-12
students can learn with adequate school library services.

Hi all,

I'm looking for ideas to enhance our outreach services to remote townships.
We have several township book drops for item return, and am looking to
provide some kind of circulation component remotely as well.

If your library provides holds pickup services, deposit collections or some
other circulation service at remote locations I'd love to hear about it!
Specifically looking for low staff input ideas that work well out of
township halls with limited operating hours.

Thanks!!

The seven-member Board of Trustees seeks an Executive Director who will commit to developing, enhancing and supporting new library services and programs for the community. The La Grange Public Library serves 15,600+ residents from a centrally located and highly accessible downtown building (completed in 2007). Key opportunities for the next Executive Director include implementing the current strategic plan, mentoring and working collaboratively with Library staff and community stakeholders, completing the 2018 Library renovation project, and growing new partnerships with external agencies and organizations. With a vital staff (26 FTE), a dedicated Library Board, and a $3 million annual budget, the Library seeks the leadership of a visionary!

La Grange<http://www.villageoflagrange.com/>, an award-winning village founded in the 1800s, today bustles with activity including shopping, dining and entertainment. The community encourages and supports a wide variety of independent retailers and creates fun and enriching events that attract young families. Anchored by the La Grange Village Hall, downtown is the vibrant heart of the community offering residents an opportunity to come together, socialize, and celebrate. Some of the buildings date from the 1890s, when retail and commercial businesses began to flourish. In addition to an active and energetic downtown, La Grange is known for its historic residential district, its pedestrian-friendly environment, and its excellent public schools. When people visit La Grange, they want to stay! Two train stations and a public bus system provide easy access to nearby suburbs and downtown Chicago.
