Join the Special Collections team at the Library of Michigan and help coordinate and build a plan for statewide community engagement focusing on our three core audiences: Public Libraries, Historical and Genealogical Communities and State Government.
This newly created position will build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders in and outside of the library to expand knowledge and increase use of library resources and programs. The position  will lead  development and planning of all library programs and guide outreach activities of Special Collections staff. Additionally, this position will provide general reference, develop brochures, bibliographies, guides, presentations and other tools which promote successful use of Library of Michigan materials by the public as well as co-manage library website content and design. The Community Engagement Librarian is expected to travel in and out of the state and present to community and professional groups. This position represents the Library of Michigan within the department, state and national levels; participates in pertinent professional associations and acquires continuing education essential to carry out job responsibilities.
