Do you enjoy helping others reach their full potential? Would you love to work with students in our Libraries’ reference department? If so, KVCC may have the perfect part-time opportunity for you. 

This position provides quality reference and information services to students, faculty, and staff and assists patrons with computer use and database searching. 

This position will also provide research skills instruction to individuals and groups and conduct library orientation sessions and tours. 

Other duties include, but are not limited to: 

    * Recommending book and media purchases for the collection. 
    * May supervise daily operations including opening and closing procedures. 
    * Other duties and projects as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 	

A Master’s degree in Library or Information Science is required. 

Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse population of patrons and colleagues. 

Commitment to creating and maintaining a positive working environment. 

Proficiency with MS Office software. 

Schedule flexibility is required, including availability to work weekdays and daytime hours as well as some evenings and weekends. 
Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 	

A minimum of one year library reference or instruction experience, preferably in an academic setting. 

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent reference service to support college-level scholarship. 

Demonstrated ability to teach bibliographic and electronic research skills at the college level. 

Computer software and hardware training and experience.

Work Hours: 	22 - 25 hours per week; Monday and Tuesday 1:00pm-9:00pm, Wednesday and Thursday 2:00pm-9:00pm
