After 11 years of service to the School of Information Sciences (SIS), Dr. Stephen Bajjaly has stepped down as Associate Dean. He will be on leave during the 2018-19 academic year and will return to teaching as a SIS faculty member in May 2019. He will remain active in library and information science education during this time as President Elect of the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE)...

Christian-Jacob Johnson Joins SIS <https://wayne.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=71069e78b2e149adc34550c95&id=f762a404d4&e=ddcf03c2ac>
Christian-Jacob Johnson recently joined the SIS team as E-Learning Specialist. In this role, Christian provides support to SIS faculty and students as they use the various e-learning tools, including the new learning management system, Canvas. Christian assists and supports faculty with online course design, development and delivery. He also provides instruction and training to SIS faculty, staff and students.

Kafi Kumasi published a paper entitled "INFLO-mation: A Model for Exploring Information Behavior through Hip Hop<https://wayne.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=71069e78b2e149adc34550c95&id=5468875f32&e=ddcf03c2ac>" in the Journal of Research on Libraries & Young Adults 9(2018).

Sandra Svoboda (MLIS '17), Special Assignments Manager for WDET 101.9 FM, has been leading a series of panel discussions at libraries <https://wayne.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=71069e78b2e149adc34550c95&id=d7b4a752bd&e=ddcf03c2ac> throughout Metro Detroit. The series focuses on fake news, fact-checking, online scams, and more. SIS will be a panel location in October.
