Summary of Purpose:
Perform complex clerical and technical duties in support of the functions of the libraries. The employee is expected to work in a multi-cultural diverse working environment.
Duties:
1. Search, input and update online records including bibliographic, patron, reserve and interlibrary loan records following a standard format. Assist with library services platform record maintenance.
2. Verify interlibrary loan requests and locate local holding libraries. Maintain accurate interlibrary loan reports, files and statistics for interlibrary loans.
3. Assist library faculty, as needed, in answering library user questions, including complaints or concerns, making appropriate referrals and assuming responsibility for operation of the public rooms.
4. Maintain course reserves and periodical holdings information in the library services platform.
5. Prepare library materials for shelving and circulation. Organize and conduct inventory projects. Resolve shelving conflicts and errors. Maintain correct shelving order for library materials.
6. Provide clerical support for the libraries, including ordering supplies, reporting and tracking equipment problems and scheduling and billing for library services.
7. Prepare computerized and manual reports (e.g. Alma Analytics, public service statistics) for the purpose of providing documentation and information to others.
8. Train and direct college student personnel with appropriate approval.
9. May be required to work additional hours.
10. Performs related tasks as assigned.
Campus:
1. Provide circulation, interlibrary loan and reserve desk services to on-campus and remote users. Negotiate fines, collect money, and transfer funds to campus business office. Review policies and serve as first-line troubleshooter for related patron problems. Make appropriate referrals.
2. Help patrons locate library material and provide assistance for use of systems and equipment. Coordinate the search process for missing library materials.
3. Assist librarian with bibliographies, instructional materials and background collection development activities.
4. Process and maintain the government documents depository collection from the Federal Depository Library Program by dating, affixing document numbers, shelving and updating and discarding records in the online library catalog.
5. Maintain loose-leaf services. Collect, prepare and process library materials for the bindery. Review damaged library materials and handle basic repairs.
6.  Create tutorials and documents procedures for the ILS and related applications. Conduct
    workshops, as needed.
7.  Assist with the tracking and resolution of problems/issues related to automated library systems
     and library services platform.
8. Attend meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or   gathering information required to perform functions.
Library Systems:
1. Perform copy cataloging in all formats using national and local standards and practices. Prepare materials for physical processing.
2. Organize and oversee library services platform projects within the department and across the libraries.
3. Handle OCC's contributions to collaborative lists of serial holdings. Collect, input and update data for update serial lists for the campus libraries.
4. Assist configuring and maintaining library services platform to enable data exchange.

5.  Serve as a resource to answer inquiries about bibliographic and holding records.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
* An earned Associate Degree or higher in Library Science
-or-
Any Associate degree or higher with 16 college credit hours in Library Science
AND
* Successful completion of Clerical Skills Battery (Language Arts, Math and Microsoft Office - Word and Excel)
* Computer keyboard proficiency: 35 wpm
* Minimum Two (2) years experience in a library setting
* Demonstrated customer service experience
