Greetings!
We are currently seeking a Monitor/Library Aide Substitute.  This position
will have dedicated hours from September 2019-June 2020 when we are open on
Sundays and many other opportunities to cover shifts.  The application

*Job Status:*
Hours will vary until September 2019- June 2020 when they will be as
follows:
Week A Monday Circulation Aide 12-9 pm
Week D Monday Circulation Aide 9 am-6 pm
This staff will also be expected to to cover shifts on an as-needed basis.
*Rate of Pay:*
Pay ranges from $ 11.31-15.07/hr.
*Job Description*
Employees in the *Monitor/Library Aide Substitute *position serve in the
Support Services Department.  A *Monitor/Library Aide Substitute* is
trained for public service at the security and circulation desks.
A *Monitor/Library Aide Substitute* may be called upon to do any or all of
the following
(These examples do not include *all* of the tasks which the employee may be
expected to perform):
·         Greet the public pleasantly.
·         Know and understand the Library Code of Conduct.
·         Observe behavior in Library building and on Library grounds.
·         Routinely visually check all areas of the Library, including
public rest rooms.
·         Remind patrons of Library Code of Conduct; intercede when
behavior is in violation of the Code.
·         Pick up trash on the grounds when necessary and take out
recyclables weekly.
·         Participate in Library opening and closing procedures.
·         Write logs and report incidents and contact police if necessary.
·         Responsible for program and meeting room set-ups, which involves
moving chairs and tables.
·         Respond to Library staff requests for assistance.
·         Pick up and drop off mail at City Hall.
·         Light building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs.
·         Public service at the circulation desk including checking in
(discharging) and checking out (charging) items to library customers
·         Collecting overdue fines
·         Issuing library cards
·         Using the cash register and handling credit card transactions
·         Computer data entry; document production
·         Filing and record keeping; maintain orderly supplies inventory
·         Retrieval of library materials from overhead and floor-level
shelving
