[Michlib-l] Friends of Michigan Libraries and Trustee Alliance Workshops in April - registration is open now!

Friends of Michigan Libraries, FOML, and the FOML Trustee Alliance, will be providing two 1-day workshops in April for library friends and trustees. Each day will feature Jamie LaRue, speaking about intellectual freedom and related topics, as well as other presenters. These workshops will be held at the Novi Public Library on April 4 & 5, 2019.
Workshop synopsis: Libraries are viewed as open access organizations, providing information resources and materials to their communities without barriers to those services. Libraries have an obligation to provide materials and information which represent all points of view and which reflect diversity of opinion. What happens when a library is challenged about its selection of materials or its use of meeting room space? How does a library meet that challenge?

The cost for each is $25 for members and non-members is $35. This registration rate includes all workshop materials, refreshments and lunch.
