[Michlib-l] Scanning library card barcodes from cell phones

We purchased scanners that will scan from a phone app like StoCard. We require patrons to use such an app when using their cell phones (as opposed to a picture of the card) If they do not have the card on an app or the physical card with them, we require picture ID to look up their card.

I have a question with regards to scanning library card barcodes from patron cell phones. Have you done this? If you do, have you asked for identification?

Thanks for your input.
