[Michlib-l] Chromebooks

We just purchased three chromebooks for library staff use. Received them today. We went with Acer Chromebook R 11 Convertible Laptop, Celeron N3060, 11.6" HD Touch so that we had the touchscreen capabilities and the attached laptop keyboard for when we needed a "real" keyboard. 🙂

We plan to use them for circulation functions away from the desk (filling hold requests, primarily) and with a wifi hotspot for off-site events.

We are looking to get some Chromebooks and wondered if anyone has tips or recommendations about purchasing. Also wondered if anyone has had good results buying them refurbished.
