Join Michiganders on the RoadT

as we head west this fall.

The American West is part of our American heritage, from Horace Greeley's
admonition "Go West, Young Man" to the TV westerns of our youth. Our October
5-13, 2019, Gateway to the West Tour explores the Missouri and Kansas region
that served as the gateway to the American West.

Our nine-day, eight-night tour explores historic sites in Missouri and
Kansas: the Gateway to the West. We'll visit Cahokia Mounds, the Old Cowtown
and National Frontier Trails Museums, Fort Larned National Historic Site,
the Great Plains Nature Center, the homes of U.S. Presidents Truman and
Eisenhower, the National WWI Museum, and much more.

We'll also enjoy a chuck wagon dinner, a railroad dinner train, and a
steamboat dinner cruise!

Join us for the four-day, three-night America's Architect: Frank Lloyd
Wright Tour from August 17-20, 2019, as we explore the life of Frank Lloyd
Wright, a brilliant architect and a problematic personality. Controversy,
scandal, and even murder swirled through his life. He designed buildings
that have become World Heritage Sites, created new architectural styles, and
integrated his structures with the surrounding landscape. He also undercut
his first employer; made impossible demands on builders; left his wife for a
married woman; and suffered the loss of his wife, friends, and home in an
arson-murder. Wright's biography is more astounding than fiction-and we'll
experience the whole story on our tour.

The Michiganders on the Road motor coach tour program was developed by HSM
to allow participants to experience the culture and heritage of all 50
states. The excursions are not "cookie cutter" tours. Each and every tour is
planned, executed, and guided by Robert Myers, HSM's director for education
programs and events. When planning the adventures, Myers keeps in mind what
history enthusiasts look for in their road trips so that the experience
meets expectations.
