 Good Afternoon,
  
  
  The Comstock Township Library has a Part-Time Youth Services Assistant 
position open.  Comstock Township is located to the east of Kalamazoo.  The 
Comstock Township Library is a class IV library and is part of the 
Southwest Michigan Library Cooperative.

  Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  	Assist young patrons in use of the library at the Youth Services desk 
	Assist young patrons in basic computer use, printing, and copying 	Assist 
in collection maintenance 	Runs programs targeted towards young people as 
assigned 	Maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, 
supervisors, other community agencies, and the public 	Prepares for 
emergencies and helps maintain a safe work environment 	Performs related 
duties as required 
  
 Minimum Qualifications:
  	High school diploma or GED 	Delivers friendly, attentive, welcoming 
customer service 	Interest in and comfort working with young people 	Basic 
computer and Internet knowledge and skills 	Willingness to seek help from 
librarian if inquiry is a more involved question 	Embraces change in work 
environment, procedures, and services 	Able to understand and carry out 
oral and written instructions 	Able to prioritize duties and tasks; work 
independently and assume responsibility 	Flexibility with schedule
	  
 Desired Qualifications:
  	Experience leading youth events, programs, or storytimes 	Knowledgeable 
about the philosophy and techniques of public library services
