This past weekend, the Howell Carnegie District Library had the second of 2
seminars on dementia awareness led by Amanda Bulgarelli of Positive
Approach to Care <https://teepasnow.com/>.

Both seminars were well attended, with Amanda speaking about "Normal Aging
vs. Not-Normal Aging" at the first one in September, and "What is
Dementia?" at the second. The audience feedback was terrific for both and
the staff, who sat in for each program, were impressed too. She had the
audience voluntarily interacting: responding to questions, partaking in
short role-play scenarios, and even singing along to a mnemonic device for
how to treat people with dementia.

Amanda was an excellent speaker, gave relevant and important information
related to dementia, and was so easy to work with--no-hassle booking, great
communication, and reasonable presenter fee. She also has other
dementia-related presentations, so she's more than likely got a program
appropriate for any library.

We'd like to give a shout-out to TLN, since we discovered Amanda at the
TLN's Adult Services Presenters Showcase last December.

If you're interested in having Amanda Bulgarelli present at your library,
she can be reached at amandab at teepasnow.com.

Have a marvelous Monday,
Brandi
